Tony Huffman presented marvelous floral designs, poetry and music.
Peckerwood Garden was developed in the early 1970's as a living botanical laboratory. Open to the public since 1998, the arboretum is a collection of more than 3,000 plants artistically landscaped in several of the micro climates found in our area. The garden contains many rarities and threatened species that have vanished from the wild. Always changing appearance, it's a truly wonderful place to experience and return to! Summer 2015 Field Trip
In July our members took a trip to Richmond to visit 2 nurseries and the new Gallery Furniture Store.
We did not see the usual display and selection of plants! A garden path throughout 1 large nursery was flanked with potted plants for sale. A highlight were the many varieties of clumping bamboo growing. The other nursery highlighted numerous unusual and creative container gardens.
Gallery Furniture was the biggest surprise. The atrium had an amazing 'green wall', beautiful plants including many orchids, a koi pond filled with water lilies, tropical birds and even a huge salt water aquarium with colorful fish and a couple sharks. All in a FURNITURE STORE!
